Sending a direct message to those following you on Twitter is a great way to start a relationship, build friends and up your conversion rate.
Social networks are just that, social. When someone decides to follow you, what better way to start a relationship, than to tell them how much you appreciate the follow and that you are going to provide them with things of value to them.
