Regardless of what business you are in, if you are going to offer yourself as an expert you need to become that expert on everything related to your business.
If you are in the healthcare business you need to be a source of everything health. I emphasis everything health because so many of you think if you call yourself a Wellness Center you now have satisfied the requirement to be a source of everything health when in fact that is far from the truth.
A source of everything health means a place where people can go to learn everything they need to manage their health. Not just your specialty but everything health.
But I post links from Mercola on my website and Facebook page. So what! That makes Mercola the source of everything health not you.
Right now most supermarkets, drug stores and insurance companies have more information on their website to make them a source of everything health than you do. That means you are giving up the position that you should own. Why? Because supermarkets, drug stores and insurance companies have nothing to do with health and yet you are letting them win this war.
Did you know right now Publix, Walmart, WholeFoods, Kroger, Albertsons and a bunch more are fighting for the position of Wellness Center in your neighborhood? They are becoming a source of everything health. Did you know they are developing corporate Wellness Programs to capture that market and take the business right from under your nose? Did you know almost every major insurance company is doing the same thing?
According to a recent article in the New York Times, New Roles for a Family of Pharmacists, drug stores are even offering exercise classes for their customers as part of their Wellness Programs, right inside their stores.
If you are sitting around thinking that a Wellness Center sign on the building or in the waiting room is enough to make you a source of everything health, think again.
